English Translation of Hadith
Hazrat Shaddad bin Aus (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah
[SAWW](PBUH) said, "A wise man is the one who calls himself to account
(and refrains from doing evil deeds) and does noble deeds to benefit him
after death; and the foolish person is the one who subdues himself to
his temptations and desires and seeks from Allah the fulfillment of his
vain desires".[At-Tirmidhi Hadith # 2459]
Lesson : as mentioned above in Surah Al-Qasas Ayat 61. “Allah have made to enjoy the luxuries of the life of (this) world, then on the Day of Resurrection, he will be among those brought up (to be punished in the Hell-fire)?” This Hadith highlights the importance of the accountability of one’s self. Mere desires which are not coupled with practical efforts are of no avail because Allah grants reward on good deeds and not on yearnings and desires which are not supported by noble actions.
