Narrated
Nāfi: Abdullah bin Umar (RA) said, “The Prophet (PBUH) said: Fever is
from the heat of Hell, so abate fever with water.”
Nāfi added: Abdullah used to say, “O Allah! Relieve us from the punishment (when he suffered from fever).”
(Hadith No. 5723, Book of Medicine, Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 7).
Alhumdolillah,
this virtue is very well known to all of us and almost every one of us
use water dipped clothes for abating fever.
